A private house of the royal family during the late Joseon period, it consist of several elegant buildings. Here, King Gojong (the-second-to-last king of the Joseon Dynasty) lived until age 12, and his father, Daewongun, attended to state affairs as regent for ten years (1863-1873). The wedding ceremony of King Gojong and Queen Myeongseong is reenacted here on the 3rd or 4th Saturday in April and October annually.
