This is the belfry for a 3.18-m-tall bronze bell from the early Joseon period. Today, the bell tolls everyday at noon except during the month of December. On New Year’s Day, Independence Movement Day (March 1) and Liberation Day (August 15) an official bell tolling ceremony is held.
