Gwanghwamun Plaza

Gwanghwamun Plaza is a 43 m by 557 m plaza opened in front of Gwanghwamun Gate. During the Joseon Dynasty, it was called “Yukjo-geori” and played a key role in the politics and culture of Joseon. By reducing the 16-lane to 10-lane road, and installing a flower carpet, a waterway, fancy lighting and much more, Gwanghwamun Plaza was established in 2009.
